United Arab Emirates donates sh160m for OIC

THE United Arab Emirates (UAE) has contributed $100,000 (sh160m) towards the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) business forum
THE United Arab Emirates (UAE) has contributed $100,000 (sh160m) towards the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) business forum, writes James Odomel and Winfred Kagwe.
Ahmed Dagher Almamar, the UAE chairman of International Investment House, handed over the cheque to Olive Kigongo, the president of the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI), at the National Bank of Commerce offices.
Kigongo said: “We are thankful to UAE and other partners for their contributions. We are sure the money will go a long way in supporting activities during the forum.â€
About 600 guests are expected to participate in the 12th OIC, which is organised by UNCCI and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
