RUGBY Cranes 7s coach David Mutaka is optimistic his team will scrape through the difficult pool A to qualify for the 2008 Safari sevens quarter-finals in Nairobi, Kenya tomorrow.

The Cranes are in group A with double champions Emerging Boks, Samurai International (both South Africa) and Tanzania.

“Samurai is good but we should be able to go past them. Our biggest challenge is the Boks. They have won the tournament for the last two years. We shall give it our best,” Mutaka said before the team departed last night.
The top two teams in each of the four pools qualify for the quarter-finals.

The third and fourth will settle for the shield and bowl events of the prestigious annual event. The main games start tomorrow and the tournament ends on Sunday.
