RUGBY Cranes coach David Mutaka reckons his side will tactically match Tanzania and South Africa’s Samurai International in their group fixtures of the Safari sevens in Nairobi, Kenya today.

“We have strength and speed which we will capitalise on to handle Samurai. If we beat Samurai, then we will be assured of a place in the quarterfinals.

We will easily deal with Tanzania but the real challenge is South Africa (Emerging Boks),” Mutaka remarked yesterday.

Two teams from each of the four pools will advance to the quarterfinals of the main event. The third and fourth will compete in the shield and bowl events respectively.

Mutaka opted for pint-size Brian Kikaawa ahead of Anthony Kinene, who will start on the bench.
“Kikaawa is fast and more experienced in the sevens. He was our star player in the George Sevens in South Africa last year,” Mutaka stated.

Captain Moses Soita, Paul Ssemakula, Joel Anguyo, Edmond Tumusiime, Charles Candia and Bishop Onen will start in the opening game.
Paul Kabazzi, Brian Jjemba and Kinene will start on the bench.
