Herbalists and traditional birth attendants in Kabale district have been ordered to register under the Uganda Association of Herbalists and Cultural Association, reports Darious Magara.
The regional drug chief, Amos Atumanya, made the order on Friday during a general meeting at the Kabale Home Again Hotel.
He said the Government could monitor the healers when they were registered as a group. The health secretary, Aldrine Tibenda, said the association would help identify fake healers.
He also urged the healers to report fake colleagues who were tarnishing their profession.
