COACH David Otti seems set to start a second life as coach after Express recalled him, 13 years after he left the club. In a bid to rejuvenate the Red Eagles, Otti has been named as co-coach, and will handle the team with Jimmy Muguwa.

Veteran Otti’s fortunes have changed since he helped psyche the national soccer team to victory over Angola as Laszlo Csaba’s assistant.

“We think that Otti and Muguwa will do what they did in the 90s. Many people talk of Popadic for the 1996 good performance but it was actually Otti who groomed those players,” an official said. Matia Lule, who has been Muguwa’s assistant, will remain in the same position.

“Since we have a young talented team, we needed Otti’s services because he is like a father to all," the official added.

Muguwa welcomed the return of Otti at Wankulukuku.

“I worked with him in the 90s, he is a good man and he respects everybody. If it was another talkative coach, I would have resigned, but Otti is above that,” Muguwa said.
