- KCC FC has hired former Uganda international Godfrey ‘Moogy’ Mugisha as assistant to head coach George Nsimbe. Nsimbe confirmed Mugisha’s recruitment although the former player insists he is yet to receive a formal appointment. Mugisha who says he holds US D and C coaching licenses believes that his appointment was not by mistake.

Five set for Safari camp
- Five Ugandan youngsters have been picked for the Safari junior tennis camp due on August 4-15 in Nairobi. They are Dennis Lutaaya, Simon Ayella, John Colline Abonga, Henry Ayesiga and Lawrence Ssempijja.
Kenyan tennis legend Margaret Odera, who runs an academy where the activities of the camp will be run, picked the players. The players will also play in the East Africa Junior Tennis Open.

Boxer Serugo near starving
- Uganda’s only Olympic-bound boxer Ronald Serugo said on Monday that he had not eaten for two days, despite an earlier offer of sh1.5m by the National Council of Sports for the boxer’s upkeep. Bombers Cuban coach Jimenez Gonzalez later ordered the flyweight boxer to go back home. Instead, Serugo opted to buy his own food with the help of a relative who gave him some money.
