FORMER IBF Inter Continental light welterweight champion Peter “Boyz Boyz” Semo returns to the ring today against Canada-based Romanian Ionut Dan Ion in Piatra, Romania.

This will be the Semo’s first fight in three months after his defeat against Ukrainian Sergey Fedechenko in May.
The defeat cost Semo his world title on his first defence.

“It’s a fight that we have been anticipating for long and the opposition is very strong,” Eddie Bazira, manager of the Stockholm-based fighter said.

“It would be a big boost for Semo if he wins this fight because we are planning to have him fight for the WBC-I title against a South African pugilist.”
Ion recently claimed the North American Boxing Association light welterweight title by beating the champion Raul Balbi.

Ion goes into the fight with a record of 21 (12KOs) 0-0 and a 57.14 knockout ratio, while Semo who stands at 18 (13 KOs) 2-0 has a better knockout percent ratio of 65.

The Semo camp is optimistic the boxer will win.
