LAWYERS representing 14 clubs agitating for the removal of the Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation (UABF) executive of Roger Ddungu have intensified their push for a vote of no-confidence in the team.

In a July 30 letter from Barigo and Company Advocates addressed to NCS chairman Anthony Katamba, the clubs insist that they want Ddungu’s team removed from office.

The clubs are led by former boxer turned politician and Kampala Central Division chairman Godfrey Nyakana and former UABF presidential candidate Justin Juuko.

The group is accusing Ddungu of running down the sport by failing to follow the body’s constitution.

The clubs are also against a four-year executive term of office and the sh0.5m annual affiliation fee.

At a recent press conference held at Lugogo, the clubs threatened to elect a parallel UABF executive if their grievances are addressed.

Juuko who is also a former professional boxer, said that, “boxing is dead People running boxing don’t know what they are doing”.

Juuko said that they have fought many ring battles, and know what it means to sacrifice for the sport.
