A landlord at Kabowa, Suuna zone in Rubaga division has been remanded in Luzira Prison over failure to build a pit-latrine.
Mukasa Ssebugenyi, 58, was arrested by Kampala City Council following a tip-off by the residents over the poor hygiene around his homestead.
Ssebugenyi’s house, located next a butcher, was littered with feaces put in polythene bags.
Prosecution led by Steven Okuku said the landlord would face charges of being a nuisance and failure to provide a pit-latrine.
Ssebugenyi told The New Vision that he was sharing a toilet with his neighbour and claimed that the waste could have been dumped around his home by the market vendors who operate next to his plot.
