KENYA Commercial Bank (KCB) is to start trading its shares on the Uganda and Tanzania stock exchanges in the next few weeks.

The chairman, Peter Muthoka, said it would dispatch two advisory teams to Kampala and Dar es Salaam this week to seek approval.

If approved, KCB will become the fourth Kenyan company to list on the stock exchanges of the three East African companies. Kenya Airways, East African Breweries and Jubilee Insurance are listed on the East African bourses.

The bank is currently operating in Uganda, Tanzania, Southern Sudan and Kenya. It recently floated a rights issue that was over-subscribed by about 47%.
