SOCCER - The City Tyres/Friends of Football (FOF) U-14 tournament is underway all over the country with preliminary games taking place. After the preliminaries to be played at regional level, each region will select a team to represent the area in the City Tyres Champions League whose 8th edition will be played at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara. FOF secretary David Katabira said the preliminaries will end by this Sunday.

Kipsiro wins them decoders

OLYMPICS - Shaban Elemu and Jake Awany were the lucky winners of two DStv decoders and Sanyu FM hampers. The duo predicted that American swimmer Micheal Phelps would win the highest number of medals and Moses Kipsiro as Uganda’s best performer at the Beijing Olympic Games. Uganda returned home with nothing, but Kipsiro came so close to finishing in the medal bracket.

Nabisunsa sure of medal

BASKETBALL - National schools girls’ basketball champions Nabisunsa Girls are confident of winning this year’s East African secondary schools basketball championships that commenced in the Rwandan capital Kigali on Tuesday. The Ugandan record champions lost to eventual champions Mombasa High at the quarter-final stage in last year’s games in Mombasa.
