USPA to honour fallen colleagues

NEWLY appointed Christ the King Parish Priest Monsignor Gerald Kalumba will lead the mass when the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) prays for its fallen scribes today.

NEWLY appointed Christ the King Parish Priest Monsignor Gerald Kalumba will lead the mass when the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) prays for its fallen scribes today.

Msgr. Kalumba replaced Bishop Paul Ssemwogerere who is now Bishop of the Kasana Luweero Diocese. The 10am mass is due at Christ the King Church and will bring together all sports lovers, the USPA fraternity and relatives.

State sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi who is also USPA patron will represent the Government at the function where various sponsors of USPA activities will also be present.

National Insurance Corporation, National Council of Sports, City Tyres and uganda telecom will all be represented at the service.

The scribes body last week held a road safety campaign in Lugazi under the theme: “A seat Belt can Save life”.

Among the colleagues to be remembered is Freddie Sekabembe, Moses Oguttu, Remmy Mayanja Luberenga, Andy Simon Kawesa, Kevin Aliro, Paul Waibaile Snr, John Bagenda Mpiima, Muzungu Kanga, Sammy Kateregga, George Muwanga Kamya and Stephen Jemba.

Others are Isa Kawuma, Kenneth Matovu, Simon Peter Ekarot, Francis Batte Jnr, Leo Kabunga, Rashid Mudin, David Matovu, Siraje Zziwa, Moses Kakeeto, Charles Kiggwe, Nathaniel Mulira, Robins Mutagubya, John Wasswa, Dan Byobyonka and Samuel Wossita.
