Truth or dare: Kiss Morris for 20 seconds

A kiss for the night, all six boys praying that it comes their way, just three days in the house – what a never-seen-before season of the M-Net reality show, Big Brother Africa! It’s just orientation week and the housemates are already on cloud nine. Yet we have three months to go as they take their shot at the sh170m jackpot.

It’s getting hot in there. It got hotter on Wednesday night after housemates had dinner. Perhaps it wouldn’t have gone the extra mile – kudos to Uganda’s Morris who started it all by teaching the housemates the name game. Oh, how entertaining it turned out!

One had to challenge the housemates to mention names of something, say, cars. One after another, they rattled off… Audi, Challenger, Rav4, Escudo.

So if your turn came and you hesitated, you would drop out as the rest continued till the last man standing won the game. Excitement, laughter and jokes ruled the game.

Quiet housemates like Namibia’s Lucille also came out of their shell. And who knew it would mutate into truth or dare?

One of the housemates jokingly dared Tanzania’s Latoya to strip for the group. They got more than they asked for. First off was the microphone. The hair band followed, then the overall. And before we knew it, the bra too went off. And she sampled us her dance fits, strutting what her mama gave her to jubilations and ululations by the housemates.

And sensing they could take the game the extra mile, spin-the-bottle got incorporated. One spun it. It faced another, who had an option to either tell the truth about something embarrassing, or allow to be dared to kiss someone, undress to reveal private parts or anything. On failure, you got thrown into the ice-cold water in the swimming pool.

“Just to kiss someone? Bring it on,” was the boys’ take. And they utilized it to their best. Everyone, including Morris, prayed that they got dared to kiss Lucille, the most beautiful and most reserved. And much as Zambia’s TK had earlier got an embarrassing dare that made him stand naked for 20 seconds, he is the only one who got the chance to kiss the Namibian beauty. He jubilated afterwards, licking his lips incessantly for traces of the girl’s lips. It was as though he had won the jackpot itself. The other boys looked on wishfully.

At least everyone got a kiss. Kenya’s Sheila kissed all the boys. Morris clang on to her lips when his 20 seconds elapsed. He claimed they had rushed the countdown. Meanwhile, someone tell our boy to bathe — tuswala.

He and Nigeria’s Uti claim the water is too cold. It’s just as well that both, on refusing to honour a dare, were plunged into the pool — a shower by default. But more embarrassing though, Sheila too has been dodging the shower.
