The Police have warned boda-boda cyclists against hiring their motorcycles to thugs and murderers. The the officer in-charge of Lira Central Police Station, Cosmas Ruganzu, made the warning last week while meeting the cyclists. He said some thugs hired the motorcycles and that had increased the crime level in the district. He urged the cyclists to cooperate with the Police in preventing the activities of criminals.

Marketeers donate nets
*LIRA
Lira district has received 45,370 mosquito nets worth sh17m to fight malaria. The nets were donated by Uganda Health Marketing Group and handed over to the district health officer, Dr. Peter Kusolo.The malaria programme manager, Anne Kusiima, said the beneficiary sub-counties are Adekogwok, Bar, Ogur, Adwari, Okwang, Orum ,Central, Ojwina division and Lira sub-county.She a follow up would be made to ensure that the nets reach the target beneficiaries.
