WITH four albums on the market, Doreen Mutibwa, the sensational songstress in the Jungle Productions Band, is not a stranger among music lovers.

Over the years, Mutibwa has consistently delivered catchy songs that are synonymous with women empowerment.

She attracts a big audience among the ordinary women because she sings about issues that affect them.

The Abakazi Tulinga Sente singer has released another women-friendly album titled Love Kyambalo (love is a garment). The album consists of six tracks in Afro-beat.

Like her previous songs, Love Kyambalo is already doing well among Mutibwa’s female fans. It was produced by Michael Kinene of Dream Studios and distributed by Arbitex Studios.

Love Kyambalo, the title track, which tends towards what is popularly called ‘band music’, dwells on women and their relationship with men.

It portrays love as a dress. Mutibwa argues that if the dress does not fit, you do away with it.

So if you get a partner who does not suit your interests, do not waste time with him or her because this will cause you perennial problems.

Mutibwa gained popularity last year when she released her third album; Gutujja. Her music career has been rising.

Her 2004 debut album, Vumbula, introduced her to the music industry, but was not as hot as the ones that followed.

After she established herself, she released her follow-up album, Twewunya.

Mutibwa’s third album, Gutujja, is a mellow piano-based Afro-beat akin to other female band singers, especially contemporary women in the Eagles Production Band.
