EDMUND Tumusiime, the uganda telecom Kobs star, who has been out with a hamstring, will boost his side in the Kitaka Memorial sevens at Kampala Rugby Club today.

Kobs, who go into the final leg of the 2008 uganda telecom sevens circuit eight points behind Heathens, will have playmaker Timothy Mudoola in the starting line-up too. Mudoola whose shoulder had not fully healed started from the bench in the Kyadondo sevens last week.

Kobs coach Fred Mudoola said the team had put their defeat to Heathens behind them and focused on the tournament in memory of the late Kobs chairman Edward Kitaka.

“We still have a mathematical chance of winning the circuit but it is very tricky. If we fail to win the circuit, we should at least win the tournament in memory of our chairman. It’s a special tournament for us,” Mudoola stated.

For Kobs to stay in contention they must win the tournament and hope that Heathens lose in the quarter-finals which is most unlikely.

Should Kobs win and Heathens are beaten in the semi-finals the two teams will tie on points. The champion would then be determined by the number of tries scored.

In preliminaries there are four groups with three teams in each and the top two will qualify for the quarter-finals tomorrow. The semi-finals and final will also be played tomorrow.
