He was the shortest artiste at his own unplugged show at Silk Lounge last Thursday night, but, in the end, Sweet Kid stood tallest.

He demonstrated why he is the most engaging performer the music industry can toast to.

Sweet Kid’s Club Beer-sponsored unplugged show was awesome. His performance was definitely worth more than the sh20, 000 fans paid to watch the show.

At one point you felt sponsors Club Beer had instructed him to bring the Silk Lounge roof down with an unforgettable performance, considering nominated artistes for the Bell Pam Awards were partying upstairs at the same time.

If crowd indulgence and attracting finer artistes was the yardstick for the winner, Club Beer and Sweet Kid carried the evening.

Sworn foes, Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone performed on the same stage. Interestingly, it is Bobi Wine who invited his nemesis to the stage.

Sweet Kid’s Sirina Mulala hit is incomplete without crooner, Julianna Kanyomozi. They put up quite a show; you felt we had found our own version of Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. The song was cheered most with endless calls for encore.

Sadly, like it is with unplugged nights lately, the place was so full there was no space to dance. Only our hearts danced to the beat.
