Urban development state minister Urban Tibamanya has advised land owners in the newly-established town boards who can not afford to develop their plots to sell.

“I know there are people with small plots who are not ready to develop them, I urge you to sell them to your neighbours who are ready to develop them,” he advised.

Tibamanya made the remarks while launching the new town boards in Nyeihanga-Buteraniro in Mbarara on Monday.

He asked land owners to cooperate with the physical planners to enable the proper construction of access roads and opening of drainage channels in the towns.

Tibamanya urged them to follow approved building plans and make strong foundations for storeyed buildings to avoid accidents.

The trading centres elevated into town boards include Nyeihanga-Buteraniro, Biharwe, Bwizibwera and Rubindi in Mbarara district and Kabuyanda and Kabarebere in Isingiro district.

Tibamanya also launched the planting of 90,000 coffee trees in Rugando sub-county.

Rwampara MP Charles Ngabirano urged his constituents to take full advantage of the towns.
