CAPTAIN Denis Musali hit an unbeaten 56 while teammate John Illukor managed 49 off 45 balls as the Wanderers dashed the title hopes of Tornado B with a four wickets victory over the Castle Lager Super Six leaders in Entebbe.
The result was duly exploited by Tornado, who thumped the table-propping Rounders by seven wickets in their corresponding fixture at Lugogo to move to within one point of table-leading Tornado B with a game in hand.
Tornado B have 32 points with one game to play meaning that their mother club, Tornado, will be league champions if they win their last two league games.
Wanderers are on 23 points with three games to play but theirs is an outside chance at best.
Nevertheless, if Tornado B fail to rescue the league, there will be no doubt about who to blame, apart from themselves of course.
Sunday’s loss was the second in a row to the Wanderers and became only the second defeat of the campaign for Tornado B.
