JUSTIN ‘The Ugandan Destroyer’ Juuko is in Russia to challenge homeboy Nugaev for the IBA lightweight title on November 15.

Juuko (43-9-1, 28 KOs), a former two-time world title challenger has been billed as Nugaev’s most accomplished foe.

The Ugandan made the trip to Russia with vocal local promoter Abbey ‘Arum’ Mugayi.

Nugaev (18-5-1, 10 KOs), who is managed by Edward Gumashyan, is 3-0, 2 KOs since losing out in a close unanimous decision to Filipino Dennis Laurente in July 2006.

Nugaev, who competed overseas for several years, boasts wins over several notable fighters, including Efren Hinojosa, Jose Antonio Izquierdo, Sammy Fuentes and the previously unbeaten Anthony Mora.

Juuko twice challenged world champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Antonio Hernandez and lost on both occasions through late knock outs.

The Kampala-based fighter was also defeated by world-class boxers Miguel Cotto, Carlos Hernandez, Diego Corrales and Jose Armando Santa Cruz.

He is 4-0, 1 KO since coming out of a short retirement in 2007.

Juuko’s fans are eagely looking forward to the fight.
