Is Barack Obama Black or White?

I enjoyed reading David Sseppuuya’s article “Why is Obama regarded black and not white?†in New Vision Online. I have often wondered how individuals of mixed race are regarded in Africa, and his explanation was very enlightening.

Fortunately, we are finally getting to the point in the USA when we can say “it doesn’t matterâ€â€¦at least to the vast majority.
There will always be whites and blacks alike who think first of the colour of a person’s skin not the content of his or her heart, but they are the exceptions.

David Sseppuuya should be in theological school! Obama is Luo, and Luos are black! Look at Obama again.
Anyway, it is a victory for blacks.

David Sseppuuya, like many others who have opined on Obama in the New Vision before him, want to ridicule the man’s Luo ancestry, but they are only making a fool of themselves. The New Vision will not publish any rebuttals that go against their line of advocacy.
