BEING a free event, the WAPI (words and pictures) Exhibition which takes place at Hotel Africana’s People Space every month usually attracts many.

And because most artists who participate in the event are upcoming, they try to put up good performances. This time round, the fifth edition of the British Council and Uganda German Cultural Society-sponsored event that was held last Saturday, was more entertaining.

Skills Factory, a session where musicians fuse different genres, was intriguing.

The Baxmba Waves fused local and western musical instruments, while Lugaflow star GNL Zamba did his witty and conversational Luganda rhymes.

R&B singer Douglas Batte and Richard Sekyando, a kadongo kamu (country music) artiste, tried to outshine each other.

There was also a fashion show. The next WAPI festival will be held on December 13 at Hotel Africana.
