A concert of the ‘squeeze’ generation

MANY foreign artistes have come but few have conquered before they have left. But, finally, here is one group that is not going to be pushed down.

Different audiences have been catered for at the ‘The Greatest Concert Ever in Uganda’ slated for tomorrow at Lugogo Cricket Oval Grounds.

Boyz II Men will be the main singers for the age group that last danced ‘squeeze’. Did anyone make those sensual (called skin-to-skin) songs after the 1992 hit, End of the Road?

Yet the real crossover artiste comes in the name of Joe, with the kind of looks that will get girls screaming before he performs.

He is the sultry ballad man, often is singing about different states of utopia in love.

But for some, music without dancing is incomplete. That is when Jamaican Tanya Stephens will “Pull Up”. And even God knows that to many Ugandans, you are not dancing unless you vigorously shake the waist like you are performing in a Jamaican video.

Tanto Metro & Devonte (Everyone Falls in Love, I Got News for You) fall in that category. And for all that, the programme has been laid out.

After performances from a few local artists, Tanya Stephens will hit the stage first. Coming in with her own DJ Andrew who will thrill the crowd.
