BRO–GROUP has been crowned overall champions of the 2008 Corporate League competition.
The clearing and forwarding company, came ahead of close rivals Coca Cola, securing their first title since the Corporate League started in 2002.
Makerere Walter Reed Project were crowned third at a glamorous ceremony at Hotel Africana on Saturday.
Bro-Group turned out to be the biggest harvesters of the season, as they also picked trophies as athletics winners and first runners up in bowling.
GTV general manager Dan Kagwe, who was chief guest at the ceremony, handed over the overall trophy to Bro-Group promotions supervisor Godfrey Alija amidst applause from the excited team.
“This is a great move in promoting interaction among the corporates. I would like to see it become less competitive but more of a social event,†Kagwe said as teams, who missed out on the trophies, walked away with certificates.
AAR, Roofings, SPEDAG, Mogas and Parliament won recognition as the most social, best newcomers, smartest, most organised and disciplined teams respectively.
