Brave Runumi

Remember Dr Francis Runumi, the erstwhile former FDC stalwart turned commissioner for planning in the Ministry of Health? The last time he appeared here, we told you about his new swanky home.

Remember Dr Francis Runumi, the erstwhile former FDC stalwart turned commissioner for planning in the Ministry of Health? The last time he appeared here, we told you about his new swanky home.

The latest we have is that he was attacked by armed thugs at his residence in Entebbe. Snoops say the thugs accosted him at the gate of his posh residence on Church Road behind Lake Victoria Hotel.

The pair who were armed with automatic rifles then sneaked into the compound with him as he slid in and demanded money at gunpoint.

But the well-built and towering Runumi did not give in that easily. Instead, he pounced on one of the burglars and spanked the living daylights out of him. Unfortunately for Runumi, the other thug came to the defence of his colleague, beating and badly injuring the commissioner.

It took the intervention of Mrs Runumi, who gave the thugs the money they wanted, for the Runumi’s life to be saved. Oh boy, sorry about that.
