LC arrested over robbery
BUSIA-After the recent arrest of the LC1 chairman, residents of Nangwe-Madibiria have blamed the increased cases of robbery in the village on their local leaders. The Police recently arrested David Ojusu on allegations that he had stolen a bicycle. The residents say the leaders are aware of the robberies and are part of the racket that robs and terrorises them. In a recent meeting at Nangwe Market, residents said the leaders hide the robbers.

Counties want district status
MUKONO-Buikwe and Buvuma counties have presented their requests for a district status to district speaker James Kunobwa. Kunobwa said to decide on the fate of the two counties would be fixed in a separate meeting soon. The requests have received mixed reactions from the top brass in the district, with the majority preferring independence of the two counties. Those who support the scheme argue that Mukono, with 28 sub-counties and municipalities and about one million people, is too big for effective management.
