THE Police have arrested a man suspected to have been posing as a spirit that gives people luck.

Residing in a cave in Lugazi, Male Kayongo has been allegedly defrauding people of money and property.

Kayongo was arrested last Friday after fleecing two unidentified ladies of sh7m after deceiving them that it would multiply into sh600m.

The Police also recovered counterfeit of sh2.3b and fake Kenyan shillings amounting to 1.9m (about sh47m) from his shrine in Kalagi.

Mukono district Police chief Joseph Aurien yesterday revealed that Kayongo’s luck ran out when the two ladies, who had initially given him sh3m, complained to the Police.
“He asked for an extra sh4m and a goat, which they delivered. Unfortunately, the money never multiplied.”

The Police chief said Kayongo will be charged with dealing in counterfeit and obtaining money by false pretence.
