Ekiring held
UGANDA’S Badminton ace, Edwin Ekiring’s travel for an IOC training scholarship in Germany would be delayed by another week.
National coach, Simon Mugabi feels that Ekiring’s delay would cost him. Ekiring has since missed the introductory phase of the IOC high level training camp that commenced on January 8th in Frankfurt.

Chess event
THE national junior chess championship has been rescheduled for Saturday.
Uganda Chess Federation has postponed the season opener to next week due to lack of funds.The championship that attracts hundreds of youngsters across the nation will be conducted at the National Council of Sports Lugogo. “It has been postponed due to lack of funds but we hope to have it next week,” federation organising Secretary Godfrey Gali revealed.

Trials are on
Batting will be crucial for the selectors as the national team play the third trail match at Lugogo today. Poor batting has been Uganda’s undoing in the matches.The team is preparing to take part in the warm-up matches due next week in Nairobi.
