THE amateur boxing federation has unveiled their plans for an office. The new boxing executive will also invest sh5m to put in place a computer scoring system before the National Open next month.

Federation president Roger Ddungu unveiled the Boxing House at Lugogo. Construction will cost sh300m.

National Council of Sports were handed the plan of the two-floor building, which is expected to house the federation office, a boxing gym, hostel and Club House.

“We have given them the design and plan. We also asked them for the lease which they are still working on,” Ddungu revealed.

Council assistant secretary Justine Ligyalingi said a lease will be given after a land title has been secured for the entire Lugogo complex.

“We discussed it and we noted that we can not give out a sub-lease (yet),” Ligyalingi commented.

“It is a very big investment that can not be given a go ahead by only the secretariat,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ddungu has offered sh5m to the federation to buy a computer scoring system.

The amount was included in a sh20m budget that the UABF executive passed for the championship. Publicist Sande Musoke travelled to Nairobi yesterday to acquire the gadget.

Meanwhile, UPDF coach Kent Musa was elected chairman coaches’ commission while James Muhenda is chairman for referee/judges. Women’s representative is Shamila Mudemuki. The three will be part of the UABF executive.
