Orombi hands over leadership
KAMPALA -Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi has handed over office as the chairperson of the Inter-religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) council of presidents. Pastor John Wani, the in-coming chairperson, on Tuesday vowed to take on the legacy set by his predecessor. Orombi thanked retired Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala for the love and dedication he gave to the IRCU. He also thanked retired Archbishop Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo for leaving the IRCU a solid organisation.

Gun owners given deadline
NEBBI-Private firearm owners in the district have been given up to January 31 to ensure they have valid licenses or risk their weapons being withdrawn. Speaking in his office on Wednesday, the district Police commander, Chris Tindigarukayo, said it is unlawful for an individual to remain with a gun after its license has expired. He said it was also an offence for private gun owners to possess excess ammunition and use their guns for unauthorised purposes. The Police is mandated to recall weapons suspected of being misused.
