EXPRESS tough talking chairman Sam Kiwanuka is finally down and out. The club’s board of trustees yesterday revealed that Kiwanuka’s resignation letter was accepted, ending speculation that he had been compelled to stay.

“The board has accepted your executive’s resignation and is carrying out consultations with the various stakeholders regarding other issues raised in your letter,” a letter signed by board of trustees secretary, Peter Mulira, stated.

Express fans last week petitioned the board calling for Kiwanuka to step aside.

The fans cited poor performance of the team, withdrawal from CAF competitions and failure to hold an annual general meeting.
But Kiwanuka described the petition as ridiculous.
