Curtains are usually given priority among the items bought in a home. But what matters is the type and quality of curtains one chooses to buy.

On the market are curtains with pulments. These not only add beauty to the home, but also class.

Bonny Kaboyo of Dongfang says these curtains come in a variety of shapes, materials, sizes colours and patterns. Though people have different tastes, choosing colours that match the interior items like the chairs and the carpet is the best.

Curtains prices vary depending on the quality of the fabric. On average a metre costs between sh12,000 -sh20,000 therefore the whole house can cost sh200,000.

For the children’s bedrooms, curtains with shouting colours are the best. Children like things that are attractive to their eyes and those with features like animals and cartoons. The price of these curtains range sh6,000-sh12,000 a metre.

“The curtain and drapery industries have witnessed simultaneous growth in the demand for their products. People tend to use them to separate a room into a bedroom and a sittingroom,” Kaboyo says.

“Though curtains add beauty to the room, the location of the home should be considered.

If you are located in a dusty area, choose colours that do not show dirt easily. Remember by just a mere look at the curtain one can be able to judge your level of hygiene. Make sure you get the right colours for the area of residence,” Josephine Namitala of Nina Interiors says.
