Adjumani IDPs to get packages

THE internally displaced people in Adjumani district will start getting resettlement packages, the area MP, Santos Piro Erwaga, has said.<br>Each of them will receive beans, maize, sorghum, millet and groundnut seeds.

THE internally displaced people in Adjumani district will start getting resettlement packages, the area MP, Santos Piro Erwaga, has said.
Each of them will receive beans, maize, sorghum, millet and groundnut seeds.

The displaced people will also receive hoes, pangas, axes and 6,920 sickles to enable them start tilling their land.

Erwaga said there are over 54,000 displaced people in the district.

He revealed that the Vice-President’s Office and the Ministry of Agriculture would also donate 90 tonnes of upland rice seeds to the displaced people.

Erwaga was speaking at a ceremony at which the World Food Programme handed over farm implements to the district leaders at Pakelle.

He advised farmers to practice commercial farming to improve their standard of living.

The MP believes that a farmer who grows crops for sale can earn sh10m per month.
