KAMPALA -The number of people masquerading as employees of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has increased, a statement from the Public and Corporate Affairs Department has revealed.

It warned the public against dealing with people who claim to be agents of the tax body. “The cases of illegal agents are rampant to the extent that they operate parallel offices with URA,” read the statement.

Meanwhile, forgery of vehicle validation stickers is also on the rise. “So far, the cases of forging vehicle stickers have been found to be committed by evaders of taxes of road licences, especially taxi operators who think every operation URA carries out involving issuance of stickers is paid for,” it explained.
