JACKSON Mayanja has stoked up the flames in today’s top-of-the table Super League soccer clash by taunting his URA FC counterpart Frank ‘Video’ Anyau.

The KCC tactician’s ‘poor tactics’ tirade thrown at Anyau yesterday can only add to the highly-charged atmosphere already expected at Nakivubo .

“They are a team that depends on individuals and not tactics,” Mayanja stated.

“In fact, I give credit to URA players because they have managed to win games individually,” Mayanja added. Mayanja, has coached the tax-men before.

Internationals Noah ‘Babadi’ Kasule, Patrick Ochan, Dan Wagaluka and Johnston Bagoole have been the architects behind defending champion URA’s relentless rise to second place.

The five are already a major concern for the league leaders, currently sobbing over the likely absence of three starting figures.

“We are the defending champions and not mere contenders. We will take this game like any other,” Anyau warned KCC.

KCC are sweating over Anthony Bongole, Patrick Ssenfuka and Ausi Kaaya’s fitness levels, yet Anyau, with the exception of Fred Okello, has no injury worries.

“Its unfortunate, we might have to do without them but unlike URA, we do not depend on individuals,” Mayanja again hit at Anyau.

If Nathan Mutenza and Hamis Kitagenda maintain the electrifying form that saw them named in the Cranes’ side recently then URA could be out for a very uncomfortable afternoon.

Both teams, unbeaten this year,
warmed up for the season’s relished cracker with priceless away wins, KCC thumping Boroboro 2-0, while URA settled for a narrow 1-0.

KCC are top of the table with 33 points from 14 games, followed by Kinyara with 31 from 16 while URA have 29 from 13 matches.

  • KINYARA secured their first Super League victory over Police at Namboole yesterday.

  • Kinyara, home and away losers to the Cops last season, were in a different mind frame this time as fans chanted: “Football needs sugar not tear gas.”

Zamayoni Kwikwi and his younger brother Hakim Senkumba rewarded Kinyara’s efforts with a goal in each half.

Tony Mawejje got the consolation goal for Police late in the game.

At Nakivubo, Ismael Kiyagga struck a late winner to defeat Mukono 2-1. Swaib Sebalu opener was cancelled by Maji’s Asad Makibwe.
