RIYAZ Kurji gets another shot at the KCB Kenya Safari rally title when the event starts with a 1km special stage at Uhuru Park, Nairobi today.

Kurji, navigated by Sayed Kadri, starts fourth out of 61 cars and will be seeking a great start like last time.

Last year’s ARC winner, Patrick Emontspool of Belgium will lead the park with 2005 winner, Muna Singh of Zambia in second place.
Speed merchant, Emmanuel Katto is in 16th place.

Two Fiat works team will add spice to the event with two entrants from India—Hideaki Miyoshi and Umberto Scandola— starting in fifth and sixth position in Fiat Punto Super 2000 factory models.

Skoda, Peugeot and Citroen have skipped the event due to logistical problems.

All other foreigners enter the rally as privateers.
