MORE burgeoning artistes are claiming ownership of big songs done by their accomplished colleagues. The latest is dancehall artiste Junior Pliers claiming Iryn Namubiru did not give him writing credits for Simbalala, a duet Namubiru recorded with Bebe Cool.

“I composed Simbalala,” Pliers said on Beat FM last week. He claimed that after the song was recorded by him and Namubiru, he heard it on radio without him in it!

However, Namubiru denies Junior Pliers’ claims. “When I met Pliers, I had my song written.Yes, he co-wrote the song, but he did not write the entire song,” said Namubiru.

Nonetheless, she says, she paid him for his efforts. As far as being thrown out of the song is concerned, Namubiru says that was No End Entertainment’s idea.

He was replaced by Bebe Cool, whom Namubiru says wrote his own material.
