VOLLEYBALL - Kampala City Council men’s volleyball team beat Sport-S 3-2 to register their first league win over the three time champions on Saturday. Sport-S, who clearly missed Dennis Amukun, who is in Sudan, and Lawrence Yakan, failed to exhibit their hard hits losing the opening set 17 -25. They recovered to take the second 25 -21 but succumbed to a 25 -27 loss in the third set.

ATHLETICS - Kapchorwa district launched a strong bid for the national primary schools athletics championship on home soil by snatching victory in the opening race yesterday. Michael Cherop brought joy to the home crowd after beating a field of 70 to the finishing line in the 6000m on the up-graded Sebei College, Tegeres’ track. Cherop’s triumph heralded Kapchorwa as strong contenders in the long and middle distances.
