Cabinet is making an error on Mabira!

SIR — The Mehta Group have set conditions if they are to give up their demand on Mabira! That is insufferable arrogance! But this behaviour is not without reason.

Their audacity is a result of the full support of President Museveni and his cabinet! When I read the environment minister’s ‘report’ on why she thinks Mabira should be given away, I nearly shed tears.
In 100 years from now almost no Ugandan living today will be alive but Uganda will still be around. What does the NRM want to be remembered for?

SIR — I am sure the old man, Nanji Kalidas Mehta, founder of the Mehta Group must be turning in his grave over his family pursuit of the ridiculous demand to destroy Mabira.
Whilst the Mehta family enjoys respect and a dynasty that needs to have a decent continuity, they should seek guidance from their ancestors and gracefully withdraw from seeking favour from the state to join hands in destruction.
May the Mehtas, whilst enjoying thier wine on the 19th hole at their magnificent golf course, decide with humility to seek from this unnatural gift they want from Ugandans. Should Uganda, gifted by nature, be destroyed by the Mehtas?
