AFRICA super welterweight champion Badru “Mr Crush” Lusambya is the highest climber in the latest World Boxing Council ratings for the month of April.

AFRICA super welterweight champion Badru “Mr Crush” Lusambya is the highest climber in the latest World Boxing Council ratings for the month of April.

The Ugandan has moved five steps up from number 25 to 20 in the welterweight division, putting him in good position to land a world title fight.

Lusambya, who is just coming off a victory over Kenyan Ken Oyolo, improved his record to 16 wins, (no loss and no draw). His promoters, Big Strikers International, are working round the clock too see him land a Commonwealth title shot against current champion Ali Nuumembe of Namibia.

Lusambya is due to start a new career in the United States under Top Rank Promotions that is owned by boxing promoter Bob Arum.

Former IBF junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma remained glued at number seven in the super welterweight division and number 25 in the featherweight division.

Ocean Pacific Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Peter “Ishimaru” Okhello, has fallen two steps from 21 to 23 in the heavyweight division.
