THE sick six-year-old Matiya Sebuliba, who appeared in The New Vision on April 25, has received assistance from good Samaritans.

Sebuliba, who lives with his grandmother, Najja, at Kimogo village in Wakiso district, got malaria when he was one-and-a-half-years-old. Since then, he has been suffering from convulsions for over five years.

His mother, whose identity is unknown, abandoned him at her mother-in-law’s home and has not been found since.

Najja has stayed with Sebuliba for over five years and she cannot afford to take him to hospital for treatment anymore.

She looks after many grandchildren because most of her children died. Najja has no reliable source of income other than digging.

The Samaritans, who declined to reveal their identities, promised to take Sebuliba to Mulago Mwanamugimu Unit.
