URA FC’s title chase gathered momentum yesterday after a resounding 3-1 Super League win over unpredictable Masaka LC.

The table leaders, who started fast, took an early lead through Robert Okello on five minutes.

There was a certain degree of scrappiness for a while but the champions achieved an unanswerable fluidity that culminated into Peter Lwebuga’s second in the 40th minute.
As confidence swept through coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau’s side, so did the killer instinct.

Johnson Bagoole notched URA’s third on 76 minutes and his season’s fourth to effectively take life out of the home team and help the tax collectors to a seven-point lead.

Richard Sekatawa’s effort in the 80th minute turned out a mere consolation.

At Nakivubo, Police custodian Salim Sowed’s great performance helped the cops to a priceless 1-0 over Bunamwaya. Sowed saved shot after shot. Amlan Mukasa had put Police ahead after 10 minutes.
