THE Bishop of Arua Catholic Diocese, Frederick Drandua, has returned from Italy where he had gone for treatment.

“For one-and-a half months, I was subjected to serious medical examinations and at the end, I was declared free of cancer,” Drandua told The New Vision last week.

He was flown to the Italian capital, Rome, on February 28 after doctors at Mulago Hospital advised him to get more medical check abroad.

Drandua was treated at Terni St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. He said doctors diagnosed tumours in his stomach.

A thanksgiving ceremony was conducted on Tuesday in Arua town after his return.
Christians and well-wishers donated cows, goats and several foodstuffs to the bishop.

In his absence, the bishop of Nebbi Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Martin Luluga, took care of the Arua Diocese. Luluga was assisted by the vicar general, Msgr. Casto Adeti.
