NEED to relax in the garden, compound, beach or on a verandah? You do not have to worry about sitting on the ground, especially when it is wet. An adjustable canvas chair will do wonders for you.

The chairs are also ideal for those with space problems compared with sofa sets. All one has to do is fold it and place it aside to create space.

Canvas chairs have metallic stands and come in different designs, colours and sizes.

Betty Mutisa, who attend church regularly at Christ the King Church says: “I always carry my canvas chair to church, so I do not have to scramble for seats even when I am late.”
Mutisa says the chairs are easy to clean. She simply washes it and leaves it in the sun to dry.

James Kindu, a salesman at Yesiga Trading Store on Ben Kiwanuka Street, says: “A canvas chair is light and adjustable, so it can be used anywhere and at anytime.”

However, Kindu cautions that when buying the chairs, one should choose a chair that fits the occasion or purpose. For example, if one wants a chair to use in the compound or beach, he or she should go for one that leans back or with a provision to rest a drink.

For indoors or church, a small and simple chair will do since it does not consume a lot of space.

However, Kindu says overweight people may not be comfortable on canvas chairs, but they are ideal for medium- weight people.

The chairs are available at Yesiga Trading Estate on Ben Kiwanuka Street, Bata, Gift Shop on William Street, A.K Enterprise on Mabiirizi Complex and Game Stores in Lugogo. Prices range from sh15,000 to sh8,0000, depending on the size and design.
