Where is Nyerere Street?

SIR — As perhaps the country’s greatest admirer of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, President Yoweri Museveni should lead the crusade to name a street in Kampala after the former Tanzanian leader.

It is shameful that Nairobi, whose leaders were never really good friends with Nyerere, do have a Nyerere Street and Kampala has none! KCC perhaps joins the Guinness Book of records as the only major city in the world which has two streets with the same name—Sir Apolo Kagwa Road behind Makerere University and Apolo Kagwa Road where the foreign ministry is located.
Why not rename one of the streets after the great Pan-Africanist?
I can understand why we don’t have an Ahmed Ben Bella road, but I am ashamed we don’t have Nyerere Street in Kampala.
