HEAD teachers of schools under the Universal Secondary Education (USE) programme should stop dismissing students who do not have shoes, the general duties minister, Adolf Mwesige, has warned.

“I went to a secondary school without shoes, but l am a minister today. These children should be left to get education,” he said during the Heroes Day celebrations at Rubona Primary School in Kabarole on Saturday.

Mwesige said there were reports that some head teachers were asking students to contribute money for constructing staff quarters.
