Heart patient seeks help

A SENIOR One student of Sacred Heart SS in Gulu district is seeking $14,700 (sh24.5m) for open heart surgery in India. Janet Amito, 14, is suffering from a rheumatic heart disease, which occurs when the heart valves are damaged, a report from the Uganda Heart Institute revealed.

A SENIOR One student of Sacred Heart SS in Gulu district is seeking $14,700 (sh24.5m) for open heart surgery in India. Janet Amito, 14, is suffering from a rheumatic heart disease, which occurs when the heart valves are damaged, a report from the Uganda Heart Institute revealed.
Her father, David Komakech, a policeman attached to the Mobile Police Patrol Unit in Nakawa Division, appealed to good Samaritans for help.
“We got to know about Janet’s problem last month when she came back for holidays. This was after she got difficulties in breathing and shed had a persistent cough,†he said.
He asked good Samaritans to deposit the money on account number 1775930 in Barclays Bank in the names of the Uganda Heart Foundation (Amito Janet) or call him on 0782 423 996.
