VICTORIOUS Uganda Rugby Cranes have immediately turned their blazing guns on the July 7 Zambia fixture in Lusaka.

The Cranes who upstaged World Cup-bound Namibia 20-19 in a thrilling CAR Africa Cup tie at Kampala Rugby Club on Saturday, resume training this evening.

Coach Yayiro Kasasa explained that there was not time to rest with the Zambia match hardly two weeks away.

“We are playing our next match away so we have to work extra hard. The celebration is over; we want to beat Zambia and top our group,” Kasasa stated.

Coaching director David Dobela will take charge of the team as Kasasa will be away in Cape Town for an IRB coaching course. Dobela will be assisted by ex-star Peter Magona

Kasasa praised the team for recovering from a 12-0 deficit to win the nail-biting encounter.

“The Namibians were bigger but we had the heart. We made errors that cost us early tries but the players had it in mind that they were going to recover. Captain Adrian Bukenya’s communication with the players was excellent. Their defence errors were corrected. Players put all their bodies on the line,” Kasasa remarked.

If Uganda make the semi-finals, they meet one of the teams in the group that has Morocco, Kenya and Cameroon.

Zimbabwe, Madagascar and South Africa are not in Uganda’s semi-final path.
