IN this world of fast changes and new technological advances, one has to be innovative to move with the pace or if possible overtake competitors. When it comes to banking, the better the services, the happier the clientele will be.

IN this world of fast changes and new technological advances, one has to be innovative to move with the pace or if possible overtake competitors. When it comes to banking, the better the services, the happier the clientele will be.

So it was just as fitting when Crane Bank on Tuesday launched its Visa Electron card at Kabira Country Club over a cocktail that was graced by the high and mighty among Kampala’s business people as well as politicians.

A rose presented to guests at the entrance by lovely ushers was a courteous move that reminded everyone of being warmly welcome.

The welcome was cemented by the bank’s head of marketing, Aldrine Nsubuga, who noted that the product launch was worth celebrating.

AR. Kalan, the bank’s managing director asserted that the card would be used in all Crane Bank’s 48 ATM points. Besides that, clients will be happy to note that the card can be used worldwide. Grocery stores, supermarkets, fuel stations and discotheques among others use such cards.

Kalan noted that the product launch marked the growth in electronic shopping and payment. He further observed that Uganda being one of sub-Saharan Africa’s fastest growing economies and the hosting of CHOGM would help boost the use of the card.

Management promised not to rest on its laurels but work at introducing other products including the increase of Western Union branches.

Such measures would help reassure clients that the bank serves to grow and grows to serve. Visa Electron card’s Country Director applauded Crane Bank for coming aboard and looked forward to a strong partnership.

Guests included MTN's Erik Van Veen, Captain Roy Joseph, ex-ministers Francis Babu, Mike Mukula and Jim Muhwezi, IHK’s Dr. Ian Clarke.
