<b>Maziba take Zone 6 title</b><br>SOCCER - Kabale’s Maziba FC needed a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Biharwe to claim the FUFA Zone 6 title after a 1-all draw in normal and extra time.

SOCCER - Kabale’s Maziba FC needed a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Biharwe to claim the FUFA Zone 6 title after a 1-all draw in normal and extra time. The zonal league in the districts of Kisoro, Kabale, Mbarara, Kanungu, Ntungamo and Rukungiri ended in Kabale. Maziba beat Umoja 2-0 as Biharwe edged Kabale United 2-1 in the semis.

Lira to host

SOCCER - Lira district is to host the Zone 3 football mini league between July 10-15. The acting district sports officer Lira, Leo Alani said the zonal competition had been scheduled for Apac but the district has failed to mobilse the sh0.5m hosting fee. Three teams from Lira will take part in the event.

20 register for clan cycle race

CYCLING - Over 20 cyclists have so far registered for a 35km race organised by one of Lango clans, Ngurapuc. The race is scheduled for July 14 starting and ending at Akii Bua Stadium. Among the registered members include a renowned cyclist, Ray Opido.

BASKETBALL - This year’s edition of James Adowa schools’ basketball tournament gets underway this morning at Kabojja SS. Two-time winners Crane High will be back in the hunt for their first title of the season in the boys’ category.
